As part of Quarry Safety Week, Dynamic Safety Solutions partnered with Skillko.com to trial a safety digitisation initiative with Esker Ready Mix. The aim was to boost training awareness, complete online Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and inductions for direct staff and contractors entering the site.
Firstly, we set up Skillko with Esker’s staff training records, enabling Esker management to easily track training status, upcoming expiry dates, and manage bookings.
From there, we uploaded the Quarry Safety Week TBTs we created for Esker — one for each day — and sent them out via Skillko. Each day, staff at Esker received the TBT via text, email or the Skillko app. They read, understood and signed off on each Toolbox Talk. Once completed, a certificate was automatically generated and saved to the staff profile within the Skillko account. This allowed Esker’s safety and management teams to easily demonstrate compliance for audits or in the event of accidents or incidents.
It made it extremely easy to see who had not completed the Toolbox Talks, with the system automatically sending reminders to those outstanding.
Going forward, it is the intention for Dynamic Safety Solutions to add documents such as Safety Statements, Policies and Procedures for Esker Ready Mix and other clients in the quarrying sector. This will allow businesses to easily complete sign-offs, maintain compliance, and manage a trained workforce — saving both time and money.
